2014 Miss New Hampshire Pageant

Miss Collegiate Area, Lauren Kuhn, and I road-tripped from Boston, MA to Derry, NH for the 2014 Miss New Hampshire pageant and it was such a treat! I was like 6-year-old me in a candy store... Or 20-something-year-old me, either works! ;)

Watching the pageant served as great motivation as I prepare for Miss Massachusetts for the first and final time since I age out this year. It was so empowering to watch educated women strut across the stage with such confidence, poise and excellence- all while earning scholarship money and raising awareness to their selected platforms.

My favorite category to watch aside from on-stage question is talent followed by evening gown. Talent is an opportunity for each contestant to showcase what they can do. I find that singing and dancing are the most common talents, and while all were very polished and entertaining I was particularly excited to see a fellow spoken word performer make the Top 10! Oh, and there was a baton twirler- amazing!! If I wasn't on a social media cleanse, I would have gone straight to YouTube and watched a dozen more twirler performances.

Speaking of performances, Samantha Russo, Miss NH 2013, performed her talent. If you're not familiar, you're missing out. She won the preliminary talent award at Miss America and I am trying to figure out why I don't have her album on my iTunes! Her voice is INCREDIBLE!

Here are a few photos of me and my Miss Massachusetts sister queens during intermission. Enjoy!
